On Tuesday, march 11, 2014 we got some topic about mathematics education and age implementation from our lecturer. He indicated mathematics was for all peoples, there was for young student, adult student, or very young baby. So he was explained mathematics to young student about intuition which was very important. He tried to explain mathematics to his granddaughter, he wanted to improve his granddaughter intuition.He had some method to improve his granddaughter intuition, he made known about duration. He had a flashlight, he explained about duration with it. He wanted to explain about long duration and short duration concept.He started to explain it, he said to his granddaughter that if she pressed the button of flashlight once, it was shine continually. If she pressed the button twice, it was shine blinkingly. Then if they pressed the button for a long duration, it was off.After he explained to his granddaughter about how to operate flashlight well, his granddaughter tried to do similar thing. First time she couldn’t do that, after a few minutes she could do that, she could press the flashlight well, although after she could do that, she didn’t remember again.So, Mr. Marsigit had explained to his granddaughter about duration concept. He thought that he had improved his granddaughter intuition. From that, he said that he could learn about mathematics education concept for younger student. Mathematics for young student used experiments to explained it, young student was imitated something from adult and they tried to do that.Mr. Ilham said when we were children, we made many connections to other, so we could have many friends, and we had many methods to improve our connection when we were children, especially with traditional game. We could find our connection from that, not only to found our connection, but also we could learn about mathematics concept. For example, when we played marbles we could learn about set of number, when we played genthik we can learn about distance. In Dutch we could learn about mathematics concept from traditional game of which name rumingkup.
